Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi Make First Public Appearance After Premature Birth of Daughter Athena
Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi stepped out for a meaningful cause during their first public event since welcoming their second daughter, Athena, who was born prematurely.
On March 6, the couple attended the Borne Wonderland Gala at London’s Victoria & Albert Museum, supporting the medical research charity dedicated to preventing premature births. The event held personal significance as Beatrice was recently named Borne’s patron.
“The work that Borne is undertaking is incredibly close to my heart following the recent birth of my daughter,” Beatrice shared at the event. “Every year, 60,000 babies in the U.K. are born too soon, with little research as to why. I look forward to supporting Borne’s groundbreaking work that will help thousands of parents and children in the future.”
The outing came just weeks after the couple welcomed Athena Elizabeth Rose Mapelli Mozzi on January 22, earlier than expected. Edoardo later shared his joy on Instagram, calling his daughter “tiny and absolutely perfect” while thanking the staff at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital for their exceptional care.
Athena is Princess Beatrice and Edoardo’s second child together, joining their daughter Sienna, 3, and Edo’s son Wolfie, 8, from a previous relationship.
