The mother of astronaut **Suni Williams**, **Bonnie Pandya**, has expressed calm and confidence regarding her daughter’s extended stay aboard the **International Space Station (ISS)**. Williams, along with fellow NASA astronaut **Butch Wilmore**, was originally slated for a brief mission aboard the **Boeing Starliner** spacecraft, but technical issues have delayed their return to Earth until 2025.
Speaking with **NewsNation’s CUOMO**, Pandya explained that her daughter, a seasoned astronaut with over 400 days of experience in space, is well-prepared for the challenges ahead. “She knows what to do,” Pandya stated, noting that her daughter assured her not to worry. Williams remains enthusiastic about her extended stay on the ISS, integrating into the research team of **Crew-9** while continuing essential experiments and repairs on the station.
Williams and Wilmore had initially planned an eight-day mission to test Boeing’s **Starliner** craft, but propulsion issues forced them to join the ISS team. Despite the setback, both astronauts are reportedly content with their extended mission, working diligently alongside their Crew-9 colleagues.
Pandya, who has been an “astronaut mom” for 20 years, expressed faith in **NASA**, **Boeing**, and **SpaceX**, emphasizing that their main priority is the astronauts’ safe return. Meanwhile, she has channeled her experiences into writing books, such as her story **”Little Tail, Big Tales,”** inspired by her daughter’s time in space.
